I think that it was the right decission for him not to go as it would endanger, over and above the norm, hitroop.

However the real question is should any of our boys and girls be out there any way?

I think it's OK for Harry to go but he shouldn't take Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger ..... but they'll probably follow him - they usually do.

It is now rumoured that he will be seconded to join a NATO command unit in Afghanistan instead and that the first we will hear of the deployment is when he returns. :smt017

Would make sense to me, and explain why he hasn't resigned.

That sounds like a good idea, he could be understudy to Captain Kwaks. :smt003

Seriously though tend to agree with you Kwaks, can't see how they could have done anything else.
As for Harry, I'm sure her joined up to be in the real army where you fight people you can see. Iraq is not a good place for squaddies and the like, they were not trained to be policemen in a country where almost everybody hates them and at least 25% want to kill them with roadside bombs and the like.
Would have been different if things had stayed like they started off in Basra and they had been able to help rebuild the infrastructure and got on better with the people.
It's much worse than it used to be in Ulster, we should get out ASAP.
