Yeah, the weekends start to fill up fast around this time of year. We're in Brum the weekend after and I'm working the first weekend in April. Then there's only one weekend before we're off to the moneypit in France...

Spending hours on my hands knees rubbing down and painting skirting boards and painting ceilings etc.
Bloody hell Howard your ceilings are pretty low! who did you say did the extension "the seven dwarfs building co"? Ha Ha
That was one hell of an excuse for not going Howard I broke 2 strings on my violin whilst reading it :smt010

Regarding the ride out I don't mind if its put back to another weekend. I am working nights this weekend and haven't any holidays left although I had arranged to borrow 1 from next years quota but I wasn't going to if the weather was looking dodgy. At the minute its forecast turning nippy again with highs of 9 degrees. My better half was going to come along but wouldn't enjoy it if it was that cold ,but saying that if others are still keen I will still have sat night off and come along on my own :smt001

P.s I have some sympathy for you Howard hope Mrs Q is feeling better soon. :smt002

Sorry to hear that Howard, hope things sort themselves out and Terri is feeling better soon.

To be honest I'm watching the forecast and we are expecting winter to return on Friday night, drop in temp, strong wind and sleet (snow on the Wolds) so I'm thinking we should re-arrange.

Obviously those in better climates further South may still choose to get out on Sunday but I'll post Friday night to let everyone know if I'll be there.

Sounds an eminently sensible plan. I think we've all done enough of the cold and wet events to try for something that might be more pleasant.

Not sure whether I'll manage a rearranged date as care for my mum and Joy's parents has recently got more difficult. For my mum we had a rota for me my brother and my sister to cover the weekends but my brother's employer has ramped up his hours considerably and is making him work weekends - so without any real warning we are just down to me and my sister. Joys parents have a lot of medical issues too so that adds to the support plan!
Think this is likely to get in the way of most forum events this year.
There again, it might work out .....

I know the feeling Andy, it's a real burden. Jules' mum and dad are in a similar state but thankfully they are just 10 miles away but it takes up one evening a week and half our weekend.

Weather not looking good for Sunday :smt009

Not for me - intensive hangover recovery is indicated, I fear... :smt004

Hi All,

I know I prompted this in the first place but it's been rain/sleet here this afternoon and too cold to enjoy a rideout.

Prediction is not much better tomorrow so I'm staying at home I'm afraid.

Yes - in the end it's not so easy for me - Joy's not well (no don't worry - not related to her underlying problem).
She can't find anyone to stand in for her running creche at church .... so I think it's going to be a morning of babies and toddlers for me instead of "enjoying" whatever the weather can throw at me on the way to Newark.
EDIT: Didn't do the creche - ended up taking Joy to the NHS walk-in centre .... so I'd have had to drop out of the meet-up anyway

Got up this morning to lovely sunshine (but cold)and thought I'd made a mistake in crying off but then 11.30am onwards it's been awful, heavy rain showers then almighty thunderstorm at 1pm and huuuuge hailstones.

Good decision after all.

Yes I'll have a look at the calendar and propose a new date in April.
