New motopike clutch slave
New rear brake master

And a couple of other bits.....

Then an MOT etc

Bike now on the bike lift

First thing is to fit the AP rear sets

Squid has managed to fit some to his by using the original falco brake master - I looked into it and realised that I needed a new brake line - how ever on examination my master had a weep from the seal so.... I have now got an rsv Mille item with all the other parts - will fit that instead

While I am at it, I want to take my ohlins off and send it away for a service and new spring (ie one for my weight!)

After 6 years my heated grips have died - I will take them off and see if they are salvageable - if not then I think I will get some wrap rounds - as I always have a tank bag on then carrying them is not a problem
(The other option would be heated gloves...)

I've often wondered what is the point of fitting these as the standard rear sets seem pretty good to me.

I'm certainly not suggesting there is no point - I'd just like to know what the benefit is.

Ergonomics

Having changed my bar position, I found I needed to slightly alter the peg position

(On a long run I found I was getting pain in my right hip - I took the time to get some photos done and they showed the problem - I think it's a minor thing, but it makes the bike better tailored to me)

Yup, with the backing plates flipped over and everything in the lowest holes the pegs are about two inches lower than standard. I can do a tank full now without stopping. Which is about 130 miles more than with the standard pegs on.

So you're suggesting there might be a market out there for someone with a water jet cutter to make some adapter plates for the standard rear sets then?

I'm guessing with either of these mods that:
  • 1) Cornering ground clearance will be reduced (although the Falco is the only bike I've had that I've never ground the footpegs - a daily occurrence during the summer months on every other bike)

    2) There is no chance that Tim would be able to reach the pegs with these things fitted

Yes..... And no

I know folk have fitted ?buell pegs to lower them, but I also wanted something with more adjustment

Oh, naturally I went for the black ones..... They do look quite spiffing

Some one does make them. I remember Flatlander showing me some on his phone once. I wondered if there was enough adjustment in the linkages to make them useful.

1) Ground clearance is reduced with them right the way down. Apart from the occasional brush of a peg on an over zealous roundabout it's not been a problem. My bike is higher at the back than stock though.

2) If he had a ladder he could probably get a hand on them.
Where ever I lay my hat.....

You'll be thinking of these then??

When the griffster fitted my rearsets he kept the falco master cylinder. Being 6 ft 6 they certainly help with the legroom, though I may need to have a further fiddle to get them right.
