Leatherbritches

#1 Post by D-Rider » Fri Sep 13, 2013 1:56 pm

A (BMW F650 riding) work colleague has just returned from the Hinkley Beer Festival and was apparently satisfied by a Hairy Helmet.

It turns out that this is a brew from the Leatherbritches brewery and they have a number of interestingly-named beers.
Some of the drinkers comments are more than helpful ...
  • One for Nooj: Ginger Helmet
Golden with a small white head.
Hand pulled at Out of the Vaults, Leicester.
    Tasted like liquefied ANZAC biscuits
    ginger in the nose
    • ... I believe you can buy a trimmer which does the ears too ....

For Hanna: Tap House Malt Teaser
    Not much head.
    • .... which conflicts with what Pete claims ...
Hand-pulled half-pint in ’The Kings Arms’, Coleorton after a dodgy deal in a near by lay-by on 19 Mar 2013.
    • .... Does Tim go under the name of Half-Pint in certain circles?
... a bit thin body wise all round. Malty, yes, but lacked ’umph’ and it didn’t have strength of character.

    For Randomsquid: Old Fart
Sour. Very weak and sour. Nutty maybe. yuck.

    For Mart: Takin The Pith
    Strong fruity aroma
body is topped by a low, large-bubbled, off-white head.
    • .... plastic surgery is available
    fairly lively carbonation.

    Image

    For Pete: Shafted
whisper of sulphur but it’s bearable
    A bit too astringent.
    Light sticky finish

For ..... well you'll know who you are ....: Flash
    loose head.
    a little cold.
Very bitter - Too bitter or strong to session

    For Tim: Dr Johnson
    Has some faintly acrid bitterness,
    some smoke
    • .... from the air-box ....
may have suggested something a little more substantial.
    solid, if unspectacular
pretty well a waste of time.
    Aroma of rotten eggs/sulphur,

For Cat Lovers: Cat Piss Pale Ale
Yep looks like cat piss and tastes like cat piss. Cloudy yellow colour similar to a cloudy urine. Very thin lace which soon dissipates. Sweet aroma of honey. Smooth texture, Thin flavour. Very bland. Poor poor beer.
Many more there but let's quaff a few of these first ...

Love them

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Though it did spend some time in Pete's possession:
For Pete: Shafted
whisper of sulphur but it’s bearable
