ok, i now have a yellow sachs spring shock and a white spring shock.
after a conversation at a suspension service outlet, they tell me they can put the white spring nto the yellow bodied shock. So i can use my linkages as the valving is pretty much identical and it's just the spring rates are different.
can anyone confirm or deny this?

I'd be interested to know what suspension service outlet you've been talking to. They might be right; they might be just selling you a line. Without seeing a comparison of the valving charts between the Sachs yellow spring shock and the white spring shock you'd never be able to know for sure.zoidberg wrote:ok, i now have a yellow sachs spring shock and a white spring shock.

However, swapping over springs is something you can do yourself, as long as you have the correct C-spanner. Measure the compressed length of the spring on both shocks and note it down. Loosen off the castellated spring collars on both shocks until you're able to remove the springs, noting where any slip washers are fitted, then swap the springs over and tighten back up until the compressed spring length is the same as it was previously.
Then ride it and see what you think...

The ohlins is a fair price but. Budget for a service and maybe a new spring. A service is 100 quid, a new spring rated to your weight 60 quid.zoidberg wrote:I will see what they say, they are a reputable company quite involved with bsb etc.
I've also just been offered an ohlins for 125, I'm very tempted.

Depending on the year of the ohlins will depend on what dog bone, linkages, and triangles you will need.
It can be one of three ohlins shocks.......
A) The falco direct fit
B) The mille ap8130 this will use the falco linkges
C) The mille ap8140 this will need the mille linkages
Oh and btw try having four falco's?
Tolerance will be our undoing.
Unless it's physically damaged, bite their hand off at that price.zoidberg wrote:I will see what they say, they are a reputable company quite involved with bsb etc.
