Taillight mod

#1 Post by wannesd » Fri Aug 02, 2013 3:36 pm

Hi, made a new pcb and fitted it yesterday.

Basically what this does is give you side indicators via the brakelights.

So normal lights work,
brake lights work,
side indicators work,
and when you use side indicators and brakelights at the same time (eg: left), the right side brakelight will be lighting up as normal, left side will flash.
Will post a video of this tomorrow.

You can do this with a 5-to-4 tail light converter, exactly the same functionality.

But, I bought one, flew it in from the states, it was awfully big and didn't work well at all.

My pcb is ultra small (in fact, I epoxied it at the back of the taillight housing. And it works. Which is always good :smt003

total size is 35 x 22 mm (you do the math to inches, I'm lazy)

Epoxied to taillight housing.

I hope this will be helpful to anyone.

Nice work (though I believe a flashing tail light is technically not legal here in UK)

Nice work

Legal in Europe, illegal in uk - mot is also I think a no no

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
