Last time at mallory I fear

I fear this will be the last 1000 bikes at mallory :(

I suspect other circuits will be wanting this event - all bar brands hatch who did host it back in the day....

Personally, I will enjoy the weekend - I even have a special hat to wear - but it is quite sad

My choice of new location - cadwell or donington

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Its a real shame that a few are ruining it for the many.

British Motorsport should be considered a heritage and we should not be allowed to loose it gradually.

if you don't like the noise of a racetrack don't buy a house next to a race track. Its a bit like buying a house on a main road and then complaining of the noise/traffic.

pure imbeciles.

TBH that article doesn't really say much one way or the other.

Hopefully things will work out.

...... I guess that noisy Falcos from Norfolk will be arriving tomorrow baffled-up so as not to aggravate the NIMBYs further.

As I read it elsewhere, the meeting to make the decision was last night.
It went the wrong way and the Council are to prosecute Mallory Park Circuit for five alleged breaches in August and September 2012.
The 1985 legislation only allows for 92 days per year and they regularly breach this number. The circuit owners have told the Council that the circuit cannot be viable with just 92 days a year, so they cannot continue.
The Council have said that the would allow many more days if the noise could be seriously reduced, (track days with standard cans and standard air boxes suit anybody).

A spokesman for the circuit said: “We are currently reviewing the decision taken by the council and we are hoping to issue a statement later.”

A spokesman for the council said: “The executive decided unanimously to follow the recommendation for action.”

Obviously it would have been a very difficult for the Council, especially if they were already sure they could grant permission for a nice new housing estate, as the landowner would be in for a fortune.
The Council would also get a big increase in Council Tax revenue.

I fear the worst! :smt009

Agree with that in principal, but it isn't that staightforward with Mallory - there was an agreement in place which Mallory ignored for years, so they have to take a lot of the blame themselves unfortunately.

153 noise complaints for one year ????
So that is one every 1 and a bit days ?
Shut down a buisness generating £10.5 m per annum ?

If it is that bloody bad sodding well move somewhere else or get a fucking grip and work out that life encompasses more than nimbyism,
Why buy a house near a racetrack if you dont like noise ?
Sorry, no sympathy to the whingers

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
