Obvious question, but did you have the chip in the right way around?
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

No problems.

I've managed to fry a few chips in my time by putting them in the wrong way around...

PCIII ???

#50 Post by FalcoPete » Mon Jul 08, 2013 9:00 pm

Maybe being a little dumb here (that's not an invitation btw :smt018 )... why has no one talked about using a PCIII & a custom map? What am I missing?

Some of us have PCIIIs and harboured intentions to get a custom map. Some have even gone and got the map done.

However the outlay for the PCIII and then the map is a lot more than for a chip - and some of the chips come with improved ignition timing maps.

I've had a PCIII for years ..... but I've just bitten the bullet and ordered a Gabro chip :smt004 .

At some point I may get an Advanced map for the PCIII on top of the Gabro chip but that's not a priority.
