With the vibration coming from the clutch and it stopping when the lever is pulled in, I would be tempted to look and replace the clutch springs.
And possibly the clutch if it needs it.
I would also check the steel plates for flatness and discolouration.
I will tell you that the Rotax does suffer from vibration and is noisy anyway.
But I would investigate the clutch as you seem very concerned

Tolerance will be our undoing.

No doubt now this is a mechanical issue, the vibes are very noticable @ 3 to 5k rpm. Accidentally lofted the front at XXmph, in third, would I be able to do that if Im massively out of tune ?
Time to ring Mr jackson . me thinks
the vibes are getting worse, twice as bad as my Rotax MT 500

Weird one, Im thinking along the lines of clutch because its not constant and worse when hot.
Will give Griff a ring, get it booked in for service work and see where we go !

It is 100% clutch.
I was setting off this morning, with new posh silicone ear plugs in, leant forwards with my head over the clutch and I could hear it ticketty ticking, odd how hearing protection can isolate some sounds but amplify others (like when one ear plug aint fitted properly )
With a screwdriver rested on the casing, much vibration....
Hopefully its just the bearing, but much relieved its not the balance shaft !

OK - that's brought to mind an issue Keith (HisNibbs) had with his clutch release bearing.
From the description I'm guessing it's the same.
This link should help:

Thanks for that D-R,
Sounds like the same problem but not so advanced as Keith's.
There is a disticnt whirring in neutral, dissapearing when clutch lever is grabbed, very much the same as a tired clutch on a car with a chattering release bearing, noise stopping when pedal depressed
Now disc drive stopped working so I cant RTFM !
Will ring Fazely's finest on monday

Rang AP today, Lewis said take out clutch basket and check the nut underneath ( on the primary drive shaft ), sound advice.
I looked at the exploded diagram of the clutch, the one part which is not labelled, looks like a bearing between diaphram and disengagement shaft.
As its not labelled, Im guessing this is the release bearing ? ?
EDIT
just answered my own question, bought the bearing from Yorks Aprilia !

Finally had the time, tools and weather to dis mantle the clutch today.
I didnt find what I expected to find, the basket retaining nut worked loose, couldnt get it to shift using a 2 foot breaker bar.
The inner most plain plate has some serious blueing and what looks like a broken 'tooth', not sure if this may be a manufacturers mark or damage,
all friction plates look like they have done a days hard work or two, not sure of the wear limit, I lent my verniers to someone..............guess the rest
release bearing a bit on the rough side- replaced
I put the more worn looking plain plates toward the pressure plate, result is a lot smoother, lighter clutch but still some (lot less) vibes and noise
