With the good weather fast approaching Michelle decided to strip his vfr. Oh my. Oh dear dear me.
Mr.Honda turned in his grave with the expletives that accompanied the stripdown. I mean, a bike thats never been to bits since it was made in 1987 should come apart like a reliant in a 5mph collision right? Every engine mounting bolt was seized solid. EVERY FKING ONE> How can a smooth shafted rod be jammed solid into a smooth bore with precicely 0 threads involved. Ok so it was steel to alloy and it was furry as fook but how does it lock solid. Suffice to say he used every one of my 86 titanium coated drills to get 5 of them bastard bolts out. The 6th was removed along with its engine mounting using my sds drill and 2ft masonary bit on hammer mode

Dont need 6 mountings anyway. Real men use 5.
The idea in the 1st place was to remove the quietening gears and bore out the centre of the cams to save recipricating mass. Well that was the idea until we took the cam covers off, looked in and thought 'sod that, theres about a million spinny things'
And so its frame was put back over it with precicely no work done. Saved the weight of one engine mounting though.

I should say he has bought some RC30 front forks complete with magnesium calipers, quick release spindle etc, and a genuine honda hrc front wheel but hasnt got the yolks back from the machine shop yet. So to push the project on he avoided it and bought the cbr600 you see behind it for just over £700 to have a track ready bike. Like i said earlier, booze. ( you can see the carriers under the engine. I have a fridge just for booze in my garage. Prioritys.)
Ok, bike 2 is Dangerous daves bike. Bought from new its an 02 GSX1400 and now got 52000 miles on. Hard miles. He belives he is the only person to have taken off a perfectly operating multi-million-pound-developed 1400 injection system and replaced it with very very very expensive slide carbs. His air filters were surgical stockings until cylinder 4 sucked its in and digested it. That'll be rattle number 35 then. Various fuels were tried on a mix and match basis including tueneol(sp), meths, pure alcohol etc in the persuit of enough power to keep up with gsxr thou's and were probably responsable for rattle no.47.
It wasnt enough so the bores were skimmed 20thou and the head skimmed 40thou to raise compression. The cams were reground to give longer opening thingys etc and it worked ok until a ride out one tuesday night saw a fzr1000 seize solid and dangerous's engine decided to throw a rod out the front at 140 in sympathy. Happy days.
A new engine was quickly sourced darn sarf , stuffed in the bike and it was ready to do its 1st trackday. It went great, didnt rattle but the frame was scraping on nearly every corner. This obviously meant it was underpowered and before you could say ' dont fuck with it dave' he had the head off and skimmed 60thou. The amounts the same as previous but all off the head this time, which ground some of the valve seat away. Minor problem. Other cams were put in just to make sure if anything could go wrong it would.
Rattle no. 98 appeared after caning it to keep up with previously mentioned gsxr and 1 cylinder was found to be slightly lower on compression than the other errrr 3. Drain oil. copper in oil. take sump off. lumps of metal in sump. unbolt 1 conrod cap and feel crank. More ridges than ridge racer.
Wanted : 1 gsx1400 engine

Bike 3 is the one you cant see cos after a small headbutting incident at the local the owner has decided to remove it from my garage. So he's taken his dodgy bike from its free secure lockup to teach me a lesson. Wheres the 'ask me if i care' smiley.

The final picture is my new trailer which is fine thanks for asking. Towed my falco and a rs250 to teeside and didnt explode into a million bits so I'll have to have a look at it to see why.

I could relay the series of unfortunate events that occured to the Bell's bikes at teesside autodrome but I'll save that for another day. I've been to the pub and bed is calling.
Thankyou and goodnight.
