Delighted to hear that some of you appreciate good Scotch Whisky. I should declare an interest when I also recommend Drambuie Liqueur and Drambuie 15 which is less sweet and contains nothing but 15 year old malt whisky from Scotland's Speyside region. For those who aren't sure about peated whiskies, you may like to try a Bowmore 12 year old which is much less phenolic than some of the other Islay offerings. Enjoy!

sounds excellent to me. particularly if its real cider using traditional cider apple varieties - a lot of cheap cider these days uses imported apple juice I believe. bland.
Most definitely real cider, from local cider farms :smt003

Roll top bag, might have space :smt002 it's on just the other side of Bridgewater so ordinarily I'd be going down the A303

that was a very kind reply to a cheeky and perhaps unfair post from me. I wont take you up on it ( too late anyway) but thanks all the same.

Well the club that I visit ran out of jura.
I tried Glenmorange and another whiskey called Ardmore.
Both were very nice.
I was told by my mate that there is a shot of whiskey sold by The Hop pole at Retford for £300?
I might have to wait until my 50th birthday for such a treat :smt017

Please remember that whisky, like many products, is promoted by marketing people whose job is to persuade you that the more expensive it is and/or the older it is, the better it is. In some cases that may be the case although the law of diminishing returns does come into play.

I started on Bourbon on holidays in the USA and then moved onto Single Malts back home..

If liking Jura try the 'Superstition' - odd but surprisingly good.

Current faves - Dalwhinnie, Laphroaig & Balvenie.

I dont do drink snobbery but the blended whisky simply isnt as good - mine you a buddy bought me a bottle of 'Monkey Shoulder' and I was surprised how canny it tasted.

Links to discount offers always welcome ;)

For a good blended whiskey try tullamore dew

I have an especially nice bottle to try tonight.... Aberlour ;)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Aberlour is a nice one.

If you find any, try;

Never tasted a whisky I like but I've never tried any single malt. Brandy's more my tipple - better still, Armagnac!

(but red wine still rules!)
