Riding into work today and I stalled at a junction, not too sure why was kind of a hard stall (probably operator error). Started up again ok and off I went.
only a short while later I was giving it a bit of beans past traffic and as I shut the throttle to get in a gap there was an unusual bang as I dropped a gear.
The bike ran ok on the throttle, but was making an odd beat and idled at 2k with unusual, but regular exhaust pulses when I put my hand behind the cans.
When I got to work, I had a quick look, no time to take anything apart, but just spotted that the scottoiler spigot was off the vacuum spout at the front TB.
Hoping that's the only culprit.
WTF was that?

Had to get it fixed before I rode home, so whipped up the tank and the scottoiler cap was split and wouldn't block the vac pipe.
(note to self - put the original cap in tool kit)
Had a quick look around and lo and behold the rear brake bleed nipple dust cover catches my eye.
Managed to get it off without having to cut the retaining loop and it's a nice tight fit, rode home with no problems apart from having to reset the idle speed.
