father for sale one careful owner

#1 Post by kff30 » Sun Jun 16, 2013 4:14 pm

i get up at 3am this morning, in work at 4am then get a phone call from my dad asking if he can use my buffer to polish up his forks, as i am at work i tell him he is welcome to go round as my wife is there to give him the keys to the garage.

so my dad goes round he unlocks the garage, he unplugs the battery charger, turns of the alarm and sticks the keys in the ignition to undo the steering lock then reverses the bike out the garage.

only problem is he FORGOT to take of my bloody disc lock which has made a very large hole in my front mudguard and jammed between the disc and the fork took me half an hour to remove the lock with out doing any further damage.

sadly the front mudguard is beyond repair its cracked and split and being red it really notices

apparently thou its my fault because i dont use a "disc lock reminder cable" i pointed out to my father that i dont need to as i am not a forgetful old git like he is and in 20 years of riding i have never once forgot to take it off.

its going to cost £220 quid for a new one that is color matched

bloody parents who'd have em

They're good at that. My dad managed to crash my car in to a fence a few years back. Totally my fault according to him.. I wasn't even in the same county! haha
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Consider a CF one as an interim?

Probably cheaper.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Consider a CF one as an upgrade.

Mine is the GenII Mille shape - I think it looks nicer than the Falco one (but then beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder)

did think about a CF one but i love the fire red color so much i wouldnt want to spoil it i already have a CF belly pan which is about as much CF as i want on her, my dad has said he will pay for a new one and even thou it was his fault i will still feel guilty taken his money (god knows why i should sue him for the traumatic distress he has caused lol)

I'll have a look - I've got some red fire plastics - not sure whether there's a mudguard in there.

Sorry no sympathy here, YOU should have told him it had a disk lock on.

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
