Don't google him, send him an email: malarone@gmail.com

or go on the AF1 forum and send him a PM.

Be prepared to tell him what is your bike's setup (airbox, exhaust etc) and he'll be able to select an appropriate map for you.

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

I have the SL cans and Renegade air filter on my Falco. The Gabro chip needs some fine tuning (fiddling with the trim pots on the ECU) before everything is happy. I haven't got an exhaust gas analyser handy, nor the time to faff about with it all, so I put the stock SL chip back in for the moment.

Perhaps when the penguins stop dancing in our street and the sun comes back I'll have a go at sorting it out.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Zoom in and you can read the instructions.

How do you know its running lean? does it get alot hotter than usual?

how can the fuelling be set afterwards?

am i just better off with a power commander?
I don't know, it just doesn't feel right and it might just be my perception. I fitted the open air kit as well.

Temperature wise it's within a degree or two of where it normally was.

When I said fuelling I was talking about mixture adjustment for CO levels, and trim pot adjustment.

Power commanders should be the last thing to do really, depending on your bike mods.

I have the instructions. I just couldn't find the notch on the daughter board.

Thanks for that

Interesting....

My SL chip looks nothing like that.

Image

At the left-hand end there is a notch in the EEPROM, with a matching mark on the daughter-board. There is a matching 'U' shaped curve in the white line that's hidden by the blob of glue.

All you need to do is match up all the notches and away you go. If there's a marking not visible, have a very close look at the actual circuit board. Pin 1 of a chip _should_ have a square solder pad, and all the rest are round.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Looks the same to me - apart from a different sticky label.

its not needed

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I've used some silicone in the past since I had a chip unseat itself, possibly due to me not pushing it in fully.
