A massive thanks to Blinkey. I genuinely can't beleive it. It makes little sense.

I can totally understand the oil making it run shit when off tickover and to be expected the plugs saturated as I've been turning it over and over with no start.

The lack of spark which is no longer ? HOW? (I was checking spark with another plug so it's not as if that was wet)

Anyway who cares! The bugger is alive and kicking! Took it out for a 50 miles thrash last night and love the power again! Still unsure as whether or not to sell it :S
It hurts my rhs wrist and back and I just don't know if I trust it? :S

Ah the old wrist ache problem .... you're not the first and will not be the last to suffer this.

The angle of the bars doesn't suit many of us but there is not really much scope for changing that due to the tank getting in the way. Thing is not to support yourself so much through your arms but to take the weight through your body.
Maybe if your back is giving you grief as well, it might be time to try the clipons above the top yoke trick favoured by a number on here that have had similar issues to you. For most of them, that has sorted things out.
Pete (Aladinsaneuk) has been a major proponent of that mod so will explain what to do.

Hope that sorts it out and all comes back into harmony

It also helps if you share Pete's physique; you can then rest your belly on the tank.

If you're of normal build, try this. Wear a bum-bag, & swivel it round to the front, and rest that on the tank; eases the load on the wrists & back on longer runs. Think of it as a strap-on belly.

It's so difficult. Almost like marmite. I genuinely do love it again after the awesome, great fun hoon last night but after it being off the road for 4 of the 5 months I've owned it makes me hate it.
Keep looking at alternatives such as TL's and VTR's etc as I always wanted a V-twin but one of the reasons I don't like it is the bars...but I do currently have a bar conversion for it...and a glassfibre fairing to cut about.
My girlfriends telling me to keep it as apparently it's 'hot' wheelying at 40 to 90 past her on the A1? I dunno..
Also I love the sound and the fact it's not a Suzuki. It's rare. It's got a great following community here full of great guys willing to help when it goes wrong.
Argh, what to do....... :D :/ :S

I'm not sure if you're suffering the same way I did, but I found that the brake and clutch lever angle on a standard Falco is all wrong. I needed to rotate the brake and clutch levers down and round quite a way to relieve the pain on my wrists.

On my Falco (black frame, Flamingo red and Anthracite) there was a brass locating pin between the controls and handlebar that I had to drill out so I could move the handlebar controls and levers to the angle I wanted. That made a huge difference to general comfort levels for me.

I've owned a TL1000S (the original, full-fat, first generation job) and the Falco kicks its arse in every area except the engine, which is a score draw. In handling, brakes, stability, poise, equipment etc. the Falco is way ahead. The only area where the TL is the equal of the Falco is its motor. The TL had slightly more top end as standard, the Falco has a better mid-range.

And a VTR is a distant third after those two...

The only thing you'd have to change on that bike would be the exhausts. Standard exhausts on a bad boy like that is just so wrong...

I think I've worked out why I was getting no spark towards the end of my troubles as well now -

That little vacuum hose has a relay on it which cuts the fuel and spark without enough pressure. Well. With it clogged up with oil and being turned over slowly it wouldn't give enough vacuum to activate the relay.
