Saturday the first is a no no tim. Sorry but I have plans. If you want to drop it off the sunday then that will be ok for meKwackerz wrote:ROCKOZ wrote:In a few weeks I'll be getting a new van so could stick it in the back of that but dependant on timings it's certainly an option. When will you be taking yours?
It's just is it worth two days of travelling - there and back. I'm in the situation where I no longer love the bike. Infact I'd go as far to say I hate it. I have no feeling whatsoever towards it and I just want my money back...
I'll probably not go up til the end of the month.. maybe first weekend in June dependant on if Blinkey will be in

I have met Ollie today. Nice chap
I managed to get the bike running. Spark plugs completely saturated, so dried them and checked the ignition.
All is well now.
What did worry me was the previous owner has over filled the bike with oil by nearly a litre
Oil to a more suitable level now and bike runs sweet.
Ollie you have a cracking bike there fella, and at 7000 miles its just run in. I hope your faith will be restored in the falco......

Well done Blinkey, sounds like it wasn't too much of a problem. And I hope that you fall back in love with it ROCKOZ.blinkey501 wrote:I have met Ollie today. Nice chap![]()

What did the rattle turn out to be?
Yes I think there is every chance that's it. As we all know they blow excess oil into the air box and it does seem to me that some of this can find its way into the TBs when resting which doesn't make for great starting.blinkey501 wrote:I have met Ollie today. Nice chap![]()

A lot of extra oil will exacerbate the problem as I guess will short journeys where it never gets burnt up.
Did you find a lot of oil in the air box? (If not this theory might not be as strong as I suspect)
Good job Jay

Zoidberg, are you still looking to buy, there are 14 on e-bay right now, the best one looks like an oasis green one from the highlands, but a few of the others look worth a punt also.

Tbh I find it a bit strange. There was no rattle that I heard. not too sure what it could have been. ROCKOZ did say there was loads of oil in the air box when he stripped the bike down. Hardly surprising!!!!Dalemac wrote:blinkey501 wrote:I have met Ollie today. Nice chap![]()

I am wondering if it was oil making its way into the tb's that was causing a detonation problem and making a knocking noise or "rattle" maybe?
I test rode the bike because ROCKOZ really wanted me to, to try and see what the noise was. To me the motor pulled very strong as a 7000 mile bike should.
I didn't hear any strange noises. It sounded like a "Rotax" . Oli even took it for a run and did say that the bike seemed a little down on power in second.
I personally thought it seemed fine?
Who knows. Strange tbh.
Although I do know that too much oil in something can cause more harm than not enough oil?
I just hope this is the end of his falco woes, and he really gets the bike he deserves even if it is a yellow bike.

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
