Inaugural Tin Rattling Fund raiser raffle

#1 Post by Aladinsaneuk » Wed Apr 17, 2013 12:00 pm

Just to open this up to all folk, not just those at shropshire meet BUT

its time to rattle the tin for ridersite to cover the server costs

(I would like to also thank all those who have contributed to the running of this site over the months and years - it really is appreciated by a lot of people)

So, the vaults and archives have been raided and we have some rare items, along with some not so rare bits to raffle off:

Star Prize as this really does say it all -

Image

This is one of only two ever made - the other one is held in the vault at Bag End, Hobbiton-by-ipswich

second, and there are not many of these either -

Image

the actual raffle is for one shirt - the other shirt is being worn by Miss Isle of Wight TT. The shirt is only a large size (but it does fit a broads buddha physique... so most here will find it a good fit... unless you are skinny - if you are start eating pie! - the ridersite motif is embroidered and it is a good quality shirt

We have what is believed to be the last pair of the original Aprilia Ridersite screen stickers

Image

Fourth prize is a brand new Aprilia Performance T Shirt

Image

Crack search admins are scouring the five corners of the world (Thought there were only four? you forgot the fifth corner with squids hat in it....) and we may well have other items to add to the raffle... or for other raffles in the future

***********update*******

Also available will be 2 x Sealskinz Duty Kneelength Combat Socks (Size large uk 9-11) - that will split to 2 prizes of one pair, to share the love.. these rare beasts aren't normally available in civvi street and the equivalent (lesser) sealskinz socks retail @35 quid... a pair....
These make excellent waterproof, breathable biking socks and really are rather splendid.

Also the legendary(ish) AF1 Racing Stickers (pair of) have managed to find a way out of Texas. They will also be there to add to the rather good pile of rarities available for the draw.

Young Nooj crawled off his sick bed - poor lamb has man flu, and has donated a bottle of Cyko bike wash :)

So how can you get a ticket? simples :)

we will be selling them at the marches meet and will make the draw itself on Saturday 18th May - tickets will be £1 each

ONLINE TICKET SALES WILL CLOSE ON THURSDAY 16TH MAY

For those who cannot attend, please donate via this link - https://www.ridersite.com/viewtopic.php?t=5197
Please do say what your email address is so that if you are a winner, we can post the item to you...

may I wish every one luck with this :)

If anyone else has any prizes that would fit into the raffle - drop me or one of the other admins a PM

Oh - final reminder - all the proceeds of this will go directly to ridersite forum costs - currently around £400 a year

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Don't think I can attend so I have donated via the link. It's not much but it's all I can afford right now.

For all those donating/contributing from the opening of this thread, we will convert your donations into raffle entries, one entry per quid you donate or contribute. I will keep tabs on that with Pete and ensure all receive the right amount of entries..

If anyone wishes to remain anonymous as to how much they have donated, please mention it in the free text as you donate..

A cunning plan; when he collects enough free gratis, he'll be able to weigh them in for scrap.. a tidy profit.. :smt005 :smt005

Damn.. that's quite a good plan actually.. :smt012

You attending so you can do one of the draws hobbit? Just want to know so we can ensure the draw bucket is suitably tall to allow humorous photographs to be taken.....

Now it just so happens I will be.. Having told my boss rather curtly today that I'm having May break off regardless.. due to sacrificing my easter leave, I find my calendar surprisingly empty!
Just got to fix the fire engine now..

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.
