I would start by adjusting the switches and levers - may well help with wrist cocking

Then try bars over triple

Oh - final thought - try not doing the wrist strap on your gloves....


Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I've got a set of custom bars on my Falco that manage to meet all the following criteria (this was important for me):

1. Reduce the overall width at the bars by approx, one inch/25mm each side. I needed to do this so I could get the bike down a narrow passageway.

2. Pull the bars back enough to accommodate radial clutch and brake master cylinders, without the levers fouling the clocks and still being able to angle the levers suffiiciently downwards for good ergonomics. What no-one tells you is that radial m/cyls take up more space. To my mind the standard Falco lever angle is crap; I drilled out the brass retaining pin in the switchgear so I could get the bars at a comfortable angle for me. Prior to that a combination of the heavy Falco clutch and a dreadfully un-ergonomic angle on clutch and brake had my wrist seizing up after about 50 miles.

3. Not have to vandalise the screen or fairing.

4. Raise the bars very slightly (no more than an inch/25mm). This was mainly to give me clearance (Clarence) for aforementioned radial m/cyls.

As a result I now have bars that are slightly closer together, slightly further back and slightly higher (about an inch/25mm in each direction). It wasn't easy to do and took me about 2 years of trying something, failing and trying again. I had to buy a set of Vortex clamps from the USA and get a set of custom bar inserts welded up. I also had to bugger about with the fast idle assembly in order to be able to pinch a few precious mm to make it all work. I also had to get custom brake lines made up.

And sorry - but I don't have pictures. When the weather improves and I remember I'll take some pics to illustrate the point. Now it's done, I'm really pleased with it. It meets all my requirements and I really like the revised riding position. But it was a royal PITA to get to this point...

Nobut, I was thinking if I found some cheap clip ons with removable bars and no rise then putting them over the yokes would put them at about the same height.

Can't really stretch (haha) to the variobars at the minute, got to spend money on the brakes and suspension on the little one.
