If I had a shiny framed one to paint it would end up Triumph Wedgewood blue.
Probably look crap next to CF though.

How about that obnoxiously day glow orange that I've seen on bits of RSVs.

Dyno-rod Orange

.... and if you want to see what it might look like, here's an SV done in that very shade (yes, really - genuine Dyno-rod colour)

Might need some contrasting black or silver to set it off.

The camera has a real problem with that colour...! And from memory the colour on Dyno-Rod vans goes off really quickly. I once got a bike painted fluorescent pink and purple, and that also degraded really quickly.

Just as well - forced me to paint it black...

pink and purple

did your boyfriend like it???

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Ha.

The whole sorry saga was actually recounted in Superbike magazine in the early 90s. I built a 'kit bike' based on a Hejira chassis , with a YPVS350 engine for my then girlfriend, who was only 5 ft 2 in tall. The colours were her idea... By the time it was finished we'd split up, so it promptly got re-painted black.

Here's a Superbike mag that had part 2 of the article:

And here's what the bike looked like shortly before I sold it.

I really regret getting rid of it now... :smt010

Interesting read and the bike looks great.

No pics of the former girlfriend then ? :smt005

We could have introduced her to Tim - he likes them a bit taller than himself :smt002

If I knew then what I know now, I'd have not bothered with the stinkwheel engine, but put a Rotax 640 single in it. I do like two-strokes, but low maintenance they are not. It handled like a race bike (not really surprising, I suppose). Changed direction through power of thought alone. And a six pot caliper and 320mm disc, even if there was only one, meant that it stopped like buggery as well...
