Another sprog passed their test

#1 Post by paddyz1 » Sat Dec 29, 2012 9:02 am

Well the lad has gone balls out to get his part two bike test out of the way and passed everything a coulple of weeks back. He is now the proud owner of a fullish licence (allbeit restricted tor two years) The rules are changing in January and he wanted it done before they came into force...Nice one Craig. Not bad for a 17 year old.

He can now ride anything up to 33bhp ish. He had a 'Pulse Adrenaline' (chinese shite) 125cc bike that he brought about 4 months ago. It was less than 3 years old but had not been looked after very well so got it for £400. He spent a bit of cash and elbow grease and was riding it in no time. A friend of his offered him £500 for it last week and i told him to take it as they don't fetch much (£1500 new). Well yesterday he sold it in the morning and we then took a trip to Newbury wher we picked up an SV650 for the measly sum of £570.....What a result. The bike is in very good conditon with FSH, alarm, Alpha dot and an MOT till May.

I had done a bike text check and that was clear and now we have it i checked the past MOT's and they are all in order.
It also came with spare oil and two paddock stands........He is one lucky little 'stard

Well done Craig......you deserved it.

Well done ;)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Nice work, Craig & Paddy. Sounds like the lad has got his head screwed on (ably helped by his dad, of course). I've always had a soft spot for SV650s, they look an excellent starter bike but one that he won't grow out of too quickly.

Result!

Well done and a good find with the SV.
Tip... front fender extender is essential, the front wheel fills the front plug well with spray

Nice one people. He has definately got the passion for bikes and has already sorted the insurance. It is not taxed yet so he has to wait till Jan before he can use it.

I think i know why the SV was so cheap as well because it has some electrical problems. The lights were being tempremental and on further investigation i found all the connector blocks had been taped up and some were holding water. Also all the teminals are either green fur or black. Not good for conducting. I have a tool for removing the terminals out of the blocks and have been systematically cleaning each one so all should be good at the end of the job.

Another biker among us. It's only ever a good thing. Nice one. :smt004
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

May be worth having a good look at the voltage regulator if you are dealing with crudded connections... seen an SV fry every electrical component in a nano second due to naffed volt reg
