If the seals aren't leaking then leave them.
The valve clearances will probably be ok, but worth checking. The front is a pain to get to the front nuts, but can be done with kncukles and extension bars, last tim I did mine I went throught the gap above the rad from the front.
Do the rears 1st pretty easy and will give you the idea of what you're doing.
Also on the frontbe aware that the cam position sensor wire may need to be sealed a little instant gasket should do and take care to get the gasket properly in place when putting the rocker cover back on, it's difficult at the front and awkward to see properly, I've done it by feel in the past, but I did pinch it the 1st time I did it and it pissed oil, so had to reseat it which means taking the cover off again, so well worth getting it right the 1st time.
No special tools required apart fromthe aforementioned knockle joint for the ratchet set, a decent torque wrench and hex(allen) bits and holder for the end of your ratchet (cant remember the size of the allen key).
IIRC there is an Aprilia shop on Elizabeth Street and EuroBrit motorcycles should be able to help, but they are expensive.
Make sure you get the correct length oil filter. If you've upgraded to the longer filter the cap it hides behind will be obviously proud of the surrounding cases and the bolts will be well behind the end of the cap. If you've got the original filter the cap does not stand out and is pretty flat against the rest of the casing, the bolts are close to the end of the cap.
IIRC the short filters are 2.75 inches and the long ones 3.75 inches.
Found the link to explain, with pics of the different caps
