It's made in the UK with UK workers earning UK salaries and paying UK taxes. :)

It's made in the UK

Not quite, it's assembled in the UK from parts made all over the world, just like any other car. Other than that it's as British as they come these days.

One very nice piece of kit, far better proportioned than the saloon imho. I might even get one myself

RR uses far more British suppliers than other manufacturers. Also, for quality brands, the foreign component suppliers actually set up factories in the UK, using UK skills and labour to make the parts. This is true of all UK manufacturers including Nissan and BMW (who also make cars here).

Also, 'assembled just like any other car' sounds like they are all made from lego. If it were that simple, we'd all be doing it. I am currently sitting 300m from the Aston Martin assembly floor. They make 4 cars a day.

Rolls do something similar. VW polos pop off the line at 400 a day. Put together by people with average 6 weeks training. IIRC Rolls Royce train their staff 2 years for technicians and 6 years for craftsmen.

RR remains a fine icon of British Manufacturing. :)

The Russian who bought the company is rumoured to want to move production to Italy.

Damn!! Apart from cheaper (less familiar with the product) workforce, what do they hope to achieve by moving to Italy? Better build quality maybe, but TVR.. I mean.. it wont sound the same in Italian..
