Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I have given this some thought and i am sure i will come under critisism for what i am going to write.
First of all F/B do you like your boss is he ok with you or a twat.
I agree that theft is wrong and immorral, but i would be carefull with what you are thinking has stuff like this tends to blow up i your face.
I tend to find that what happens is that people get greedy, If people take little but often it is harder to detect.
Its when people take the piss that things come to light, and i am sure that you will not be the only one who has noticed what is happening.
If you decide to tell the authorities i would give a annonymous tip off and tell no one has you have done this has would be the bad person.
Just trying to say be very carefull dude has this could cause you more shit than what it is worth to you...Think about yourself before doing what you are thinking :smt083

Nice one Blinkey and BG.
The fuel thefts have been going on for at least 2 years, becoming more frequent as fuel costs rise.
The way I see this is its not my problem, people are paid 5 or 6 times more than me to sort this shit out but because they dont we still work for a pittance as the profit is being stolen but the manager still earns his 48k ayear, I still earn my 13k a year
If the thefts were highlighted (reported to the law) then blatant inadequacies would be exposed in the management chain so lets ignore this, its far easier

I didn't suggest you should ignore it, just that it might be better to be anonymous if/when you report it.

Why not send these 2 pages to plod.

We're told that the home office regularly does searches on the web for certain words being used, (terroism etc) would we be saying any of them?

If it was me I'd go down the police station and yes I'd even stand up in court.

your post suggests that you work at one branch of a company with several branches and presumable with a head office. rather than go to plod who might or might not be interested and might or might not drop you in it, why not send an anonymous letter to head office? If its a really big company you might well have a head office security man or two - someone with the power to investigate your boss.

whatever you do, keep some written records for a few weeks of the diesel disappearing, where filled up etc. dont make accusations that might be defamatory. take the innocent line of diesel being stolen but nothing done to investigate and you dont understand why.

there is a clear pattern to the fuel thefts, lorrries filling up in the afternoon at one of the 3 garages we use are the ones targeted.
The fuel is paid for by card so there is an electronic record of which lorry has filled up in the afternoon, the garage staff also know,so do the crew working the lorry and the guys shunting the lorries in the yard can see the fuel guage !
Someone is telling the blaggers reg numbers!
Head office must know as they pay the callout fee from the local HGV garage
Apparently it will be too expensive to make the yard secure

How about making the lorries secure then, a lot cheaper.

My company is a true believer in the false economy, when they took us over they sought new suppliers of cheaper PPE,result..boots last 1 to 2 months instead of 9 to 12 months, Im on my 9th set of waterproofs since last winter.
They like the sound of thier corporate voice and the corporate voice is NEVER wrong, therefore the diesel thefts must be a result of the menial workers without degrees in buisness studies
The modern management style has a lot to answer for

Another £750 worth of diesel gone this weekend !
Someone is being very organised with these thefts, thats a shit loaad of cans or many big drums, you'd need at least 3 lookouts, we're by a dual carrigeway and roundabout and main road
But still the boss is not bothered

Lockable fuel caps?
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Locking fuel caps are on every vehicle, makes no difference, these guys hammer a blank key into the lock, smash the lock tumblers then they replace and lock the cap !
As I said, they are organised,
When I first started working there, someone broke into the office and made off with the safe, inside the safe were all the lorry keys, and the spare lorry keys, all coded keys around £200 each to replace.
Yet no one thought it may be a good idea to install some kind if security system ?????????
Back to now... no security system ???????
