Does not sound good
Horrible noise coming from rear cylinder, sounds like it may be valve train, sort of an RRRRRRRRRRRR.
Hard to tell if it is constant, hear it when throttling off, started today as I was returning from a quick thrash around town.
As the enginge speed decreases so does the speed of the the rattle, no vibration felt through the valve cover
Cam chain tensioner ?

Teeth missing off the drive or how about a bent pin on the chain causing it to chatter?fatboy wrote:Horrible noise coming from rear cylinder, sounds like it may be valve train, sort of an RRRRRRRRRRRR.

I'm guessing btw ;)
On the BB it had that and it was caused by the oil pump drive shaft
I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"

Performance is not affected, no vibration or other nasty goings on.
The bike has just about 28,500 miles on the clock.
I put my hands up and admit I have never had the valve clearances checked, that is the next port of call.
Every time I book the bike in for service work some kind of drama happens, this month its seeing whether I keep my job

Found the culprit....
Loose spark plug, front cylinder, upper plug.
This is the one that didn't want to budge when I did my last plug change, I left it thinking that I did not want to risk stripping a thread.
Now nice rattle free running and one very relieved owner !
