#1 Post by Aladinsaneuk » Mon Jun 25, 2012 6:40 pm

being a very careful red sea pedestrian, i am signed up to lidl mailing list

this thursday, http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl ... date=32296

that hose clamp set could come in useful... and the crimp tool for 2 quid... and possibly the sabre saw.....

For clamping hoses. Your car or motorcycle or van has loads of them. I can think of many, many reasons why you would want not one, but a selection.

Normally I might agree. In this instance Pete is definitely not the one who is doolally...

But they're only plated steel. For the relatively small number of hose clamps on a bike, I'd rather pay the extra for SS

I'm planning on getting the ratchet wrenches ..... been meaning to replace the 1/2" drive one in my socket set that fell apart after another forum member used it as a hammer when changing a wheel following a puncture.

What kind of arse would do that?

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

oh yes i do not expect these to be fantastic quality - but to have in your shed on a "Just in case" basis...

Actually you're quite right there, Mart. Always worth spending the extra on stainless when said items are liable to encounter water.

ok

so who has a spare set of hose clamps in the shed for a "just in case moment"?

exactly - we all probably have a few bits kicking around, but you all know damn well that you will not find them when something starts leaking and .....

so - for a couple of quid i will have some just in case spares in the falco lair :)

and that saw is looking interesting - may well come in useful for those Noojella moments....

May just have been me , but I could never get on with that sabre saw. Didn't perform as it looked as though it should.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

at that price, it can be used for all sorts of things

like cutting up the bastard cuddly toys that seem to be sprouting like poxy tribbles all over the shagging house

I got a similar saw from lidl a couple of years ago done two winters worth of wood with it still on the first albeit bent blade

Some git borrowed it undid the blade fastening too far and now got a right pain to put it back the right way round. That said still works ok the wrong way round just less safe.

And heavy enough to save you using the socket set as hammers :smt002
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
