Well I've seen in excess of 200MPH on the clock of my Falco. Good job I wasn't stopped by one of those police types hat push buttons on your dash to see how fast youv'e been etc. It'd be 175 in a 30mph zone.....
I'm not sure what is up. It was fine until I went out this morning then I noticed the speado wasn't working. Nearly got taken out by a lorrry noticing it mind. Pushed , pulled and cleaned around the sensor and it startd giving random readings.
Over the last 30 miles or so it seems to have settled down again . Any ideas? I'll keep my fingers crossed as I've heard these things can be expensive to fix.

Sounds like the speed sensor packing up, Keith.
Even more likely if you've just washed the bike.
Done a bit of a trawl and here are some of the threads of similar experiences:

I've taken the picture Vmax = 280MPH, maybe post it on the other forum for a wind up.
Some thing about its all about exit spead .... or maybe does this settle the argument about which colour is the fastest.
Thanks for the links D-Rider. I've not washed it for a bit , it just started doing it and now it is ok again.

Most likely to be water penetration of the sensor or wire but do these checks to be sure of the fault when it next plays up and unfortunately it will sooner or later.

I didn't find it necessary to remove the rear panel if you trace up the sensor wire from the wheel it can be pulled out from the panel to access the plug connector.
