Tank protection

#1 Post by wayofthedarkhand » Sat Jun 16, 2012 2:02 pm

Anyone else suffering from scuffing and marking where their knees touch the side of the tank?

On my bike the pain on the tank had stated to rub away.

It's always a relief when the pain from your bits rubbing against the tank goes away. :smt005 :smt005

I've not suffered the problem but some have used stopmgrip - mainly for grip.

I think Nooj does some protective wrap stuff though I'm not sure what parts of the bikes it covers - worth checking with him.

Geoff

you have been dogging again haven't you.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

VentureShield Kit. You can get the tank kit for (I think) £35, but for £55 you get protection for the front of the fairing, the headlight and mudguard as well.

Have a lookie here: http://www.shinybikesyndrome.co.uk/cms/ ... tureshield

Cool. Though no point protecting something that already got scratches etc.. on it.

I was hoping there were just some pads available like the stompgrip stuff for about £15 a pair.

There probably are, but you'll get what you pay for, so it could end up looking worse as cheaper alternatives tend to go yellow and crack. A V'Shield tank kit will hide all kinds of small scratches and dulled lacquer and will stop it getting any worse. Have a think about it anyway.

No but I do have a stiff neck and sore eyes and am fed up of seeing long haired slim scantily clad girls I can recommend Russiato any single men out there or married ones with good sunglasses to hide behind ... Obviously doesn't affect me and is only what I have been told by the wife ... I hadn't noticed :smt002
