MOT farce

#1 Post by fatboy » Sat Apr 28, 2012 12:25 pm

I took my on loan Suzuki jeep for a test, didnt get off to a good start !
After 2 mins the tester said Can you open the bonnet,we cant find the relaese
I reply In the glove box
He says Cant find it so I go to glove box, take out de icer and open bonnet
5 mins later he says We cant conduct the test, there is no chassis number
I tell him Its been MOTd 3 years in a row,no problems
He says It must be stolen or a ringer, then his mate said Found it !
One of the fails was N/Side rear parking brake recording little or no effort
He tells me its probably a leaking wheel cylinder having contamined brake shoes, He's right, telltale fliud leak !
On stripping down the rear brake I notice NO handbrake cables at all, aglance
up reveals the parking brake is on the propshaft like Landys!
This means no parking brake effort on ANY wheel !
Wont be having a re test there :smt009

Should complain to the MOT authority and get you money back!
