Ohlins 46PRC AP840 remote preload adjuster.

275 quid.

From the Suspension thread this would appear to need the linkages from the ealy Mille to fit on the Falco?

I believe you are correct in your assumption, Mille bits needed to fit with it.

correct mille bits..... NOT the white spring mille shock parts - the triangles are different.....

2001-2003 rsv parts are what you need - not the 1999-2000

I rate that shock btw - i have one.....

Agree with Aladin you will notice a signifcant improvement Irich. Is it 2nd hand? If it's new that's a real bargain at £275.

Used but looks to be in good nick. I've missed out on a few recently on fleabag but scored this.

My logic was that a new Nitron is 350 quid now so this plus a refurb is in the same ball park.

Next question for the learned.. where can I get the right linkage at a decent price, and who would you recommend for a shock refurb?

Revs Racing in Brum usually get a good mention, I and others have used them, there are others if you do a 'search'

Depends where you are, you can post or do a ride in ride out service, there's also another place in York (name escapes me for now!!)

I got my linkages a few months ago off fleabay. Came to about 30 quid with the postage. Had to wait ages for some to come up though.

A lot of breakers seem to leave the linkages on swingarms when they sell them. Have a browse and if you see some being sold like this ask them if they'll split 'em.

I got a yellow spring shock rebuilt by revs and the bill was a hundred and ninety odd, but that included a k-tech spring at 80 and a new valve that allowed it to be regassed. Pretty sure he said the valve was an Ohlins part.
They did the front as well and I've been very happy with the results.

I don't see why that would need rebuilding. Maybe after you've use it for a few years. It's your money though.......

I would buy a comic, sorry MCN and go through their breakers lists for aprilias... place in essex springs to mind

Dog bone is some variety of Aluminium
Triangles - some are 6mm Aluminium, some are 4mm mild steel

Nice one, Irich. That's the same one I have and it's a top-quality piece of kit. The hydraulic preload adjuster is a godsend when taking a passenger, as well. I've always used Revs racing and they have been top notch. Revs are a small concern and you deal with the same guy that does the work; with a firm like K-Tech you can never be sure who's doing the work.

That shock will need a set of triangles and dogbone from a 2001-2003 RSV or 2002-2005 Tuono. Neither of the parts are interchangeable with Falco items. Personally, given the apparently excellent state of the shock, I'd try it out before getting it serviced. That way you'll be able to tell if the spring rate and damping are suited to you. Personally I found that the standard spring rate was too hard and I went with a spring that was 12-15% softer than standard.

It all depends on your weight and riding style/preferences, really. Only you know what you prefer.
