...too many toys, not enough hours

#1 Post by furygan man » Tue Apr 10, 2012 11:27 am

Well after a lot of thought and reading reviews i decided to get another bike using the 'secret bike fund'!! This time i thought i'd go down the German route, thought it best to do it now before the back and knees make it too tough to take on. The BHP will be down on the Falco and the brakes not as good but thought i should give it a try for a few years!! :smt045....

You don't think that the sudden appearance of this new pair of wheels might blow the cover of the secret bike fund?

And shiny Lycra shorts?

That's lovely. There's something special about a good road bike. My last purchase from my secret bike fund was a Cannondale Six and I love it! Just do it soon before summer is over!
My previous purchase from the fund was my Falco. I got rumbled as I drove down the M6 towing my the bike trailer. My wife called me on my mobile to ask, somewhat frostily, what I was up to. The seller, for some inexplicable reason, had called my house to ask why I hadn't turned up at 9am. I had told him that I had to drive from Edinburgh so I don't know what he was thinking. The plan was that if I didn't buy it there was no point mentioning it to my wife and if I did buy it, she'd see it in the garage beside my Triumph when I got home. Peace was restored when I agreed that I would sell the one I liked least, a strategy that was difficult to argue against as they were similar styles. However, it did take over a year to decide. You don't have that problem; the Cube and the Aprilia are sufficiently different!

Cool tale!! This is my first road bike so will see how it goes, currently have a full suss Specialized and looking to get a Cube hardtail next month...still working on the story, easier to explain/hide than another motorbike, if that ever happens!!

When you bought the Cube, I guess you thought you were actually getting one of these ....

Yum yum. A double 'ard bastard of a racebike, that was. I remember going to Donington for practice in the first year of MotoGP and that was the LOUDEST thing of all. Fantastic noise, especially on the overrun. Shame it got canned.

I assume you live at the top of a hill, and that you have a car permanently parked at the bottom of it, because someone forgot to fit the engine to it. And I always thought the Germans were pretty good at the QC stuff. :smt002
I'm right 98% of the time so why worry about the other 3%?
