bloody ebay and its stoopid users

#1 Post by fatboy » Sun Apr 08, 2012 8:27 pm

A couple of months ago I realised the only way to finance the return of the Falco was to sell a project, my 85 XL 600
Its a stolen recovered (they all are ) so Id spent a long time sourcing legit parts to get it re reg
Put it on eblag, guy from Sweden wants loadsa bits, send him engine no.photos do a deal, send the lot off.......
He wants a refund as the engine dont fit????
Wants refund but w ont pay return shipping costs, Eblag dont want to know
Surely buyers mistake, engine number shows year/ model ect
WTF :smt013

Believe fek off might be the best response
If you described it as what ir was it's his problem you can't be responsible for his idiocy. Plus what is he really going to do ?

I agree with flatlander. If you sent the engine number and details, then its buyer beware.
Get in with ebay, lodge a complaint against the buyer, state your case and walk away.
What the fk was he fitting it in? Cant be another similar model XL 600?

Tell him he's welcome round to talk it over like Gentlemen. Usually works for the few disputes I've had.. Funnily enough, no one seems to want to take up the offer! Keep your wedge a give the tit the two-finger salute! :smt003

First off I think Sweden is NOT a part of the EU

SECOND - Caveat Emptor

Tell them to fuck off

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

They became members in the mid 90's after the Cold War. People still think they're not because they're one of the few countries who take no real notice of the bullshit imposed on them by the idiots in Brussels.

Beware

Ebay are on the side of the seller always!!!

If he lodges a complaint with ebay and paypal you will likely be out of pocket.
Paypal just take the money out of your account no questions asked.

It has been done to me in the past. If it is for a significant amount then i would remove the account from their records (i don't know if it will work though)

Err on the side of caution methinks

Tell him it's the instructions he needs to make it work ;)
I also agree with protecting your bank from paymepal I had neg feedback once from someone who won something and never got in touch. Despite my lodging a complaint with eBay took 30 odd emails and threatening to sue them on the grounds that they were acting as the buyers agent or an auction house or something and should bear responsibility for the dispute. Then ot got removed never got told why

So lodge a complaint about him first

Include your records in the complaint

And specifically state that pending the solution of this case you do not authorise any financial transactions
