A New Dawn

#1 Post by Segway » Sun Apr 01, 2012 12:18 am

I have had the opportunity to chat with some of the admins of this board over the last week and in the main they have kept their word - but, some of you have probably worked out that as from now, the domain name of www.ridersite.com is now owned by myself and my company.

For the moment I am keeping this part of the forum active - along with a few other sub sections that have some merit.

I plan on closing this part of the forum next week, and the forum as you are used to it by the end of the month.

I must also point out that all posts currently held here are now under my control and copyright.

The existing members are more than welcome to continue to visit the forum in the mean time, though if I do have a forum attached to the domain name, they will have to re register and pass my scrutiny.

Please do feel free to post in this part of the forum, though I would like to stress that ANY foul and abusive language will lead to an instant ban.

Well Mr Smegway, I really didn't believe you'd follow through with this. We have bent over backwards to find an amicable solution that could keep this community together yet allow you to do whatever it is and your "business interests" aspire to do.
I thought we had agreed that we'd have another week to resolve things - but I log on this morning and THIS is what I find - locked forums and a pronouncement that you are taking over.

This really is very low of you.
Don't think this is over yet - it certainly isn't.

As a relative newcomer and big admirer of this site can someone state in words of one syllable what this means for the future of this forum, is it closing is it changing will it cease to exist all together.

I have found the site very useful and informative as well at times fun I hope whatever happens this continues to be the case.

Don't loose hope yet Tony. Things aren't over and we're fighting this all the way. We need everyone to stick together and hopefully, somehow, we'll come out of this OK.

Garvey - thanks mate :smt023

Why? Why break up such a brilliant forum and community? I would like to think you have some integrity to explain your actions to the members of this forum, but something tells me you haven't and you won't.

Someone give me a nudge when something else crops up.

is it just the name or all info on the site that will be lost ?

May I suggest Mr Smegway as you may well now be known that you take one of your mobility scooters and shove it where the sun does not shine :smt016 :smt097

Aprilia Fools day anyone?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
