Anyone fitted Oxford Hot Grips?
just been looking at putting some of these on the old falco - am I correct in thinking that they do not fit on the right hand side grip - the throttle side?
if not, how did people get round it?

You need to ask about the sizes they do for the Falco.
Thats from Oxfords web site, so if you have 22mm bars they'll fit. What bikes will the Oxford HotGrips or Oxford HotHands fit onto?
Unfortunately we are unable to state how one of our universal products will fit onto a particular make and model of motorbike. However we can offer a vague general rule of thumb. The OF695 HotGrips and the OF694 HotHands are both designed to be used on 22mm diameter handlebars and most (not all) European and Japanese sports bikes have 22mm handlebars. By comparison more (but again not all) touring or cruiser-orientated bikes, particularly those manufactured in America have 26mm (or 1inch) handlebars onto which the OF697 Custom HotGrips can be fitted.

By lip do you mean at the bar end side?Aladinsaneuk wrote:left hand side fits perfectly - right side seems to have a lip problem - may be the raised edge needs to be dremel'd.... I just wanted to make sure before I go cutting and hacking
Oh - I also accept that I am getting old as I consider this a necessity :)
I'd not trim them at all you might break the wires.
Oh and I'm going to fit a pair, I like toasty fingers

Aladinsaneuk,
I had been using the Oxford wrap round heated grips for a couple of years
on my non stop 3 hr one way commutes, and can definitely vouch for em.
I located the connectors permanently onto the battery terminals and wrapped the cable round the beam to the headstock.
The Y-split cable was wrapped round the dash frame bar running horizontally below it with the On/Off switch cable tied to said same bar.
Worked fine and was secure, the hotgrips wrap round the bars and velcro into place, click the cable power connectors together and away ya goooos

I fitted some heated grips this winter and I had to trim down the raised bits on the trottle tube. The grip then pushed on with a good friction fit. Had to slide the throttle grip towards the brake lever clamp to stop it rubbing on the bar-end weight. This had introduced a cruise control effect until I fixed it - trouble was, when the heaters were on, the grip must have expanded and rubbed harder on the bar end making throttle control difficult
- soon sorted that though.

Here's where I fitted the HUGE Controller

End bit Trimmed

The only problem is when you trim the Throttle side to match the Clutch side it makes it a bit too small and you're left with a gap at either end. You could trim the throttle side less but then you'd have a raised bit on one side and not the other.
