Aldi bike kit, this Thursday

#1 Post by MartDude » Mon Feb 27, 2012 1:16 pm

http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/of ... sday12.htm

The 'wind protection' gear is good value - at least as effective as the Oxford stuff, and less than a quarter of the price

And the boots are as warm and dry as my Sidi Mega Goretex (but the ankle protection isn't up to the same level)

Yes indeed - I use Aldi's boots and find them great - especially in the value for money stakes.

Bad luck Furyganman - they only do them in black.

The paddock stands are an interesting addition.

Shame they don't seem to be doing the jackets and trousers and the waterproof over-suits this year

Will the Futura riders be buying up the hanging baskets?

Not this year - but I might get one of the compost bins - it'd probably be a better home for the festering, forgotten, sandwiches and bananas I find from time to time in the panniers.

Anyway, I can't stand hanging baskets - plants don't grow in mid-air (unless they're epiphytes) - it's an unnatural practice, horticulturally, IMHO

Try telling my missus that.

I shall, of course, be standing well clear when you do. :smt002
I'm right 98% of the time so why worry about the other 3%?

I might go for the rainwater butt kit.
