Winter traditions

#1 Post by fatboy » Sat Feb 04, 2012 5:58 pm

It started snowing here around 2pm, settling. So by 3pm I knew I had to act. I raced into town and bought all the bread, milk and toilet roll I could find ( so I can put it in the freezer with the other 3 tons of crap from the last snow)
I then went to every garage and bought all the coal I could find (so I can stack it all by the gas fired boiler)
Iwould have panick bought petrol but I filled up yesterday.
Almost home then I remembered as I was driving a 4wd I had one last responsibilty, I headed for the lanes, banged it into 4wd and now invincible I floored it,turning it over on the 3rd bend.

I had a wonderful moment in the bad weather last year when we'd had snow which had frozen. A neighbour who always has a BMW - fairly new ones - saw me about to get into the car to go to work and said "You won't get out of the road - I've been trying for 20 minutes".

So I got into my old Primera, put the drive into snow mode, and went to work!

His face as I drove by - priceless!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

My mate's wife managed to write off his series 2 in the snow.
Apparently she failed to appreciate that 4 times fuck all grip is fuck all grip.

Old addage but very true.

It's not what you've got but what you do with it that counts.
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today

my winter traditions seem to constitute rail fare rises car failure freexing times on bike being skint being told to spend 4 weeks evaluating the performace in the job i have but dont want and being skint oh and especially getting caught out for spending more than I said I would ps pass the hat if a a4 tdi gearbox fits in it or just giveus a push to eccles :)
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
