Problem getting on to RS

Today I've been having trouble getting on here. It's very slow to connect. When I am connected, it seems the site's forgotten me - I have to log in, despite always having used the 'remember me' button on the rare occasions I have logged out. When I log in, it takes a hell of a long time to get from the portal to the forum. This has happened several times today (and occasionally in the past).

Only happening with RS.

Windows Vista, Google Chrome, Hotmail addy. No settings have been altered.

Can an admin shed some light on this please?

Oh, and new posts - i.e. posted since my previous session - aren't highlighted

I have no idea however would imagine the slowness is probably when we have lots of webcrawlers on board, it would maybe slow like a Denial of Service attack.

They do have times when they all seem to come round crawling round the site like a multiple dose of the clap.

Now and again ive had problems myself, very rarely though. Ive always put it down to things being done server side. backing up or server optimisation or somesuch twaddle. Either that or one of the server geeks is leaning against our server eating his fat laden Maccy D's.. they do that in America.. Ive seen the youtube clips..

Assuming and I don't know but assuming AP and us use a similar host you may find both affected at similar times which if the case would suggest a server side issue. It may also depend on your own connection time. People tend to logo on to their connections at set times so assuming a standard contention ratio of 50:1 if all your virtual neighbours login at the sme time to see where their telco shopping is you may also notice a hit.

The remember me may be because your connection has been reset or browser session has been terminated

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

I just logged straight in from work.
Mine has always tended to be variable from work or home, but I always put problems down to things other than our site in the past, mainly my AOL (talk talk) connection at home!

I sometimes find when clicking 'last unread post' in a thread, it doesn't take me to the last unread but several posts before - always assumed it was my cranky old computer!
