The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

Great pics ..... but aren't they a bit off course? :smt017
Traversing over 8000 miles through Argentina, Chile, and Peru, the Dakar rally pits drivers and riders against each other and against extreme terrain.

I think they moved it cos the last one had to abandoned because the cannibals ate all the entrants - something like that anyway......

Whereas this time they lost a few stages cos of diabolical weather.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Ah, yes .... I seem to remember there were problems before.

However, it does seem a bit odd to retain the name of a place it doesn't actually go anywhere near.
When it was the Paris to Dakar Rally and they changed the start point, they dropped the Paris bit and kept the name of the destination .... this latest change leaves the title open to charges of misrepresentation :smt003

It's such an iconic name though, everyone knows exactly what kind of rally it is, I think it would be a pity to change it.
