Hi Guys,
Hope I'm not wearing out my welcome here.
Yesterday on the way back from Wales Iwas doing about xxxmph in lane 3 of the M42 when all power ceased abruptly. Crikey don't you slow down quickly. Anyway I made to the hard shoulder OK. By the time I had got down to 40 mph it chimed back in with a few misfires. It repeated this twice more on the way home.
To my mind very much like fuel starvation or even water in the fuel. Any body with any similar experiences ?
I think the little drain pipe from inside the filler cap is blocked allowing water to build up and enter the tank when you fill up in wet weather.
Whats the best way to drain the tank ? Will the injectors purge themselves if I clean out the tank. All advice gratefully received.
Water in the petrol tank.

Yup, sounds like the dreaded kill switch problem, a bit of WD40 normally sorts them (doesn't it?)
If it is the petrol drain pipes being blocked (and mine were) they actually block at the bottom of the tank (the drainage pipes run inside the tank itself)
You need to prop the tank up and at the bottom right hand corner you see two pipes coming out of the tank. Remove them and then unscrew the actual fittings from the tank. I think you'll find these are blocked solid with c**p. I used a small paper clip (opened up) to push the rubbish through and clean them out
Blow through the pipes to make sure they are clear as well of course, but this cured mine
