Need new exhausts
I have had a pair of Wolf carbon cans on my bike for about three years and I have broken one of the carbon sleeves. Wolf are not able to supply a replacement sleeve in the right size becaus they are so old. To be honest, I never really liked them anyway so now I am back on the market for some new ones.
They have to be:
a) carbon
b) louder than standard but I would prefer them to be road legal and/or have removable baffles
c) I use panniers a lot so they can't be high level
Does anyone have any recommendations or experiences (good or bad) they would like share and/or recommended sources?
Thanks in advance.

I heard those stories as well but everything is perfect on mine (you'll see in Brands Hatch in May). I'd even say that they are best I've ever had on any bike (which makes 7 exhausts). Mine are stainless though, I don't like carbon - too fragile and I'm tight.Gio wrote:I don't like blue flames, I've heard too many horror stories of their built quality.

Blueflame are very nice, but I don't like the look of them with the bung in the bottom baffle, (i.e. when legal). Sort of defeats the object of having twin outlets really.
You could do like me and try Beowulf, I have been running a pair of gold shade titanium ovals for a year and have had absolutely no problems at all.

You can run them with the standard ECU chip, if you run with the baffles in, (they work best with a K&N filter as well). They are BS stamped road legal and you won't want em any louder!
See picture of my bike in the "Riders Falcos" section if you want to see what they look like on a bike. They do carbon, titanium and if you want to pay a bit less, you could go for the stainless, they're just as well built and Beowulf are an excellent company to deal with.

Sorry just checked and they don't now do carbon, but do matt black stainless. Probably stopped doing carbon because the Falco does tend to blow em apart. If you do go for carbon, you are probably better going for carbon sleeved stainless, miss out on weight saving but will last longer.

I think that both the Blue Flames and the Remus look great but Beowulf look like excellent value for money. I just can't justify spending £500+ on a bike that is probably only worth a couple of grand. It's not normally my style but this one's got to be with the head rather than the heart.
Howard - yours look like the standard length option, is that right? I am interested in the idea of a stubby option but they don't have any pictures on their site, has anyone laid eyes on 'stubbies' on a Falco?

Have a look at the Fuel Carbon Effect Stainless cans - I've one waiting to go on.
Looks good and, being stainless, should be more robust. The Fuel stuff looks very well made and the prices are good.

Yes mine are the standard length cans, the stubbies are obviously identical but shorter, some of the small pictures on their site look more like stubbies to me. One thing that I'm not sure of is how the stubbies fit, i.e. if the can is shorter and the link pipe is longer, so end in the same place. Or does it use the same link pipe and the whole lot doesn't go as far back. Am I making sense? If the whole lot is shorter it probably wouldn't look right. Give em a ring and check it out they are a really great company to deal with. I got mine at the NEC show in 2005 and did a deal with them at £320, the best offer I got from Blueflame was over £700. They also offered me some rad covers at half price if bought with em but I had spent all the cash I could afford that day.WhiteRhino wrote:I think that both the Blue Flames and the Remus look great but Beowulf look like excellent value for money. My future son-in-law needed a new legal can urgent to get his CBR6 through the test afer his Scorpion Race can failed. He only bought the cheapest stainless version for a hundred and something quid and paid the cheapest delivery, but because he was desperate, once they new he worked in Sheffield and they are in Halifax. They had a driver coming down this way so checked out his schedule then promised they would get the van driver to drop it off where he worked by 10:30 next day, it arrived at 10:25. You can't ask for any better service than that!

Those look good Sabestian.
This idea of stubby exhausts has given me an idea - before I spend any money on new exhausts I am going to have a look at my broken can and see if attacking it with an angle grinder is a possible solution. The Beowulf stubbies are about 2 inches shorter than the standard length, which is coincidentally a little bit more than the broken end of my carbon sleeve. Stubby Wolf exhausts may be a no cost solution
