Anyone looking for Boots?

#1 Post by FlyingKiwi » Sun Nov 06, 2011 9:55 am

Hi ya, Just spotted these. Not in the need myself but they look quite good for £65 if you like your footwear "sporty"
I have no knowledge of them so you buy at your risk :smt003

That's quite a saving over list price.

Though I can still buy 2 pairs from Aldi for that amount

Thanks for the link - bought through their eBay store. I've had my Oxtars since I started riding 8 or 9 years ago so its about time I got some new 'sporty' boots. Will let you know how they are when they turn up!

Turned up today with a "Now reduced to £32" sticker on the side of the box! So maybe that's the sports direct instore price?

Anyway, I've been wearing round the house for the last hour and all I can say is they are awesome. Super comfortable, fit like a glove, I can walk around no bother yet they are very solid indeed. I am most pleased.

I went to my local store late yesterday and asked about them, but they hadn't got a clue, don't think we do bike boots!
Got them to look at their site and there they were at £65.
The sales bloke says, the only place I reckon they might have some is our superstore at Shirebrook near Mansfield, shall I give them a ring for you.
Has 4 or 5 attempts then finally gets through, what size are you after?
I say 9 but my last (Sidi) boots were 10s, so may need them.
Talks for a while on the phone, says the bloke at Shirebrook has a pair of 9s at £32 and some 10s at £65. We'll save 'em for you.
Thinks, can't be £32, must be a mistake but have others at £65 which is a bloody good price, so worth a look.
Off we go, 30 to 40 mins or so later I'm at the Shirebrook store, talk to girl assistant and she finds the 9s behind the couter sticked at £32, I ask to try the 10s as well cos I've very rarely been able to get a 9 on.
9s fit perfect and feel very comfortable.
(I really wanted them as a summer boot for trips like bike meets when I do quite a bit of walking as the Sidi Evos still haven't bedded in fully after 18 months and still hurt a bit if I walk around a lot, but are fine on the bike).
Assistant asks did they tell you they were £32 in Sheffield, yes I says but I'll probably buy anyway.
She goes to see the boss, comes back and says there is no reason for them being reduced they are brand new, I'm really sorry but the warehouse put the stickers on, do you still want them at £32.
I give it serious thought for a fraction of a second, and reply yes I think they'll be OK.
Not been on the bike yet, the wife bought them for me Xmas, but feel really comfortable around the house and I cannot fault them in any way.
Absolute bargain at £32.

Ah thanks for clearing that up - I was trying to understand how any of this relates to Boots the Chemist.
