WTB replacement shock for falco

#1 Post by control_67 » Thu Nov 03, 2011 7:51 pm

After a few days of ownership I can safely say that my falco's standard rear shock is tired and past it's best, a best that by all accounts was pretty poor anyways. Ideally I'd like to find an RSV Ohlins but any decent and rebuildable shock will do, linkages etc would be nice but the shock is the priority.

You need the shock and linkages as a set - and the Ohlins makes a huge difference.

As does a decent yellow spring with linkages. As I can personally testify. :smt004
I'm right 98% of the time so why worry about the other 3%?

I know I'll need the right linkages but it seems that these are easy enough to come by separately. What is the going rate (not eBay dreamer prices) for a decent yellow spring Sachs or an Ohlins?

As has been mentioned in another post, there is an RSV Ohlins from a 98-03 bike up on eBay at the moment which is currently at a sensible price (not saying it will stay that way, mind). It even includes linkages. The spring could probably do with powder coating or repainting, but at present the price is right.

Hmmm - those dates cover 2 different Ohlins shocks that require different linkages .... though if it comes with the correct linkages, that's not a problem.
