Bonus bouncing

#1 Post by flatlander » Fri Oct 14, 2011 6:48 am

Well I got a bonus day the other day when I was able to get out to work and back without getting wet and according to the weather forecast for those of us that can see it :smt002 (Martdude it won't be that different where you are from where I am ) Wewll according to the forecast which are known for their accuracy we are possibly looking at another bonus day or two this weekend so have fun everyone :smt003

oh the bouncing relates to the performance from my blue shock and not the ohlins sitting in the box waiting for the linkages ... not that I am bitter in any way LOL
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Would be nice.
I came back from Kefalonia last Sunday night and had booked Monday off.
It had been pretty crap weather before I went and not really had a summer ration of riding this year. Heard all the stories of a heatwave back home whilst away, (better where I was!), so thought (fingers crossed) I might just be able to get a run out on Monday.
When we left Kefalonia airport it was actuallty raining there and when we got on the plane they announced how nice it was when they left sunny (???) Manchester, looking promissing!
Got back to normal Manchester wet and bloody miserable, went back over the Pennines and even heavier rain in Sheffield.
Ditto on Monday and pretty much ever since, until today, so fingers crossed may get out on the Falco for the first time for a month tomorrow.
Then again watch this space.
A forecast of good weather normally means the exact opposite!
I live in hope.

Well I ride the bike to and from work virtually every day and I can't remember the last time I got wet or had to put on the waterproofs to avoid getting wet.

I don't think this is a short-term memory issue either - it's just been good riding weather for some time.

I'd been thinking on the same lines. However, my mother-in -law died earlier today (aged 100 - fighting fit until 10 days ago - stroke; her sister's still going at 103) so things are a bit up in the air; Gill's on her way back now from a week of watching and waiting in Penarth; I ought to stay around.

Not good news Martdude. Condolences to you and yours.

Weather has been crap on every day off I've had for ages. The heatwave coincided with us being daft busy at work. And now I have a fairly large amount of work to do on the bike which is going to keep it off the road for a while longer. :smt120

Should I hope for decent weather on Sunday and have an hour of fun? Or will the temptation of all of those parts needing fitting get the better of me? :smt017

Decisions, decisions. :smt003
I'm right 98% of the time so why worry about the other 3%?

Ride it while you can!

The parts will be there another day.

As I'm a country person with all that country wisdom I know that if it ain't raining now - it soon will be!

And in view of the experience of last winter - if it ain't snowing now, it soon will be!

I too am a country person and fully understand that if I take the bike out of the garage it will rain. It I leave it in the garage it will be fine. Unless the sun is out when it will only rain if I put my leathers on. See. Country stuff. :smt002

It's odd, I live in a different part of the country but I have that trouble with the trike!

Maybe it's not so good being a country person?

If i take the bike out of the garage, everything stops... as if it's waiting to find out WTF im up to. If I reach for a helmet, it rains..

Rain and snow isnt much of a problem though, it's the low sun that is the kick in the nuts. Cant see a fooking thing..
