Perhaps some of you may have seen this video of Brian Purdey's smash from Manx GP Practice, I hadn't.

Jeez. I imagine Brian Purdey needed emergency surgery at the end of the lap to release his sphincter's grip on the seat...

I've spectated at that spot on many occasions in the past (Schoolhouse Corner, on the run into Parliament Square, Ramsey) and there's an evil bump just on the apex of the corner. I wouldn't mind betting that was what brought the lead rider down.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

I attended the southern 100 this year, and everywhere we went someone came off :smt017 .

This link shows the aftermath of a quite a bad smash at the bombhole,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnKxtk8p3ZU

The girl with the camera is my wife, and some of you may recognise my mate Chris (from Clun meet) , the big lad with the beard.

William Dunlop hit a marshall at the previous corner, breaking his leg in several places, the girl marshall crying on the video was his wife and only heard "get an ambulance for ??? over the radio), the red bike hit the bridge head on bounced in front of the white bike, which hit it and sent it airborne, it was about this time everyone ran in the opposite direction :smt003

As we returned to view the carnage, other bikes were still coming past and some debris hit my wife in the face & eye :smt009 :smt009 , so a late night at A & E followed.

Fortunately she only scratched the lens but we didn't get to see the Thursday races as she was in too much pain as her face swelled up :smt012 , still as she slept it off the next day I took the time to ride the TT course :smt023 :smt023.
