Battery

#1 Post by Blackranger68 » Tue Aug 02, 2011 1:17 am

Hey everyone just getting back to loggin on again after a mega headache with my internet provider 3, all sorted now.

Latest is that I have got the old falco through the MOT with no hassles at all. I am however concerned that the battery is not up to the job anymore and looking to know what is the best one to replace the one thats in it? Any ideas most welcome and where best to source?

Secondly I stripped the forks replaced all the seals and rebuilt with fresh oil but they seem to be a little soft, so I was wondering if anyone can advise on the standard settings for the showa front forks, once i have that I can do some tinkering

Oh and finally the rear shock is totally crap, so im looking out for a white rsv milie one. If anyone can help here just drop me a line

Regards

I use a Yuasa YTZ14S battery - slighty smaller capacity than the standard YTX14BS (11.2Ah as opposed to 12Ah) but a useful 230A CCA rather than the standard battery's 200A.

It's lighter and a little smaller which means packing it out with a piece of wood top and bottom so that the battery holder clamps it securely.

Search ebay for a decent price. It's standard fit on a number of Hondas.

I just fittedd the YTZ battery. Quite a bit smaller but seems to have made a difference on the ease of starting. Managed to find mine from a local motor factors for under £40.

Bought my third rear set of plastics the other day. Ordered a new chain and sprockets today so only need a light lense and it is done in principle and I will use it until winter when I will pull it to pieces to get it painted.
