D-Rider Might Be Off The Bike For A Bit
Hospitals - you just can't keep me away !
Having spent a few months visiting both my parents in hospital a few months back. My wife in hospital more recently and then frequent back to try to find out more about her tumour ... ongoing .... it seems that today was my turn!
It all started with us hearing a commotion outside in our cu-de-sac. My wife went to the door and saw a blue car blocking our drive and our neigbour's. There was a lot of shouting going on down the road - a chap and his other half (the former occupants of the vehicle - not from down our road) were having an altercation.
Concerned for the girl who seemed distressed I called out to them "What's Going On" .... so the chap came over enquiring forcibly what it had to do with me and stood right in my face. Well I wasn't going to try to inflame the situation but felt that standing my ground was the best course of action and would probably buy the girl some time. The next thing I knew was that I was waking up on the ground with my wife and the neighbours round me ... and quite a pool of blood in the road.
From what I can gather he'd nutted me and I'd gone straight down - I guess that's what must have happened as he'd not have got in a swing without me noticing - let alone reacting. Never been nutted before - that's my excuse for going down so easily.
Anyway, I've had a nice little ride in an ambulance, my head has a big bump and they've glued the skin back together. My nose is swollen and wonky, the right side of my face swollen and my ribs on the right are hurting - suspected bruised or broken.
It was only this morning that Pete was telling me that there would always be a need for nurses ... I wasn't expecting to have the benefit of the practical demonstration quite so soon afterwards.

There are some pathetic cunts in this world. Hope this twat get what he deserves, anyone get his details or car reg?
You'll have the joys of looking like a panda once the bruising comes out as well. Hope life turns around for you soon, sounds like you've got way more than your fair share of shit to deal with ATM.

Cheers Nooj - someone did get the reg and phoned it through when they called me an ambulance. It seems that the police record the calls they get but the ambulance service don't and there is no record of the number. The person who phoned it through can't remember it now.Nooj wrote:There are some pathetic cunts in this world. Hope this twat get what he deserves, anyone get his details or car reg?![]()

I'm guessing he'll not be apprehended.
It's the way of such things.

Hmm, I thought all ambulance calls got routed through to the police as well as a matter of course? Maybe not.

If you see the cunt floating around your neck of the woods again, get his number and pass it on to the authorities Don't bother with being a vigilante you can have it backfire
Get well soon though bud. I'll bring some grapes round for ye.

Apologies for the rapid edit will.....
All 999 calls are recorded routinely
Make an official report to a police officer yourself, and ask them to interview you tonight - description etc
And point out that the reg plate was put through
You need to write down times etc
And am sorry mate

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
Police attended here and at hospital. They took a statement while I was waiting in A&E - so that side has all been done.
The police said that they record all calls but the ambulance service don't.
I'm not interested in revenge or retribution - more concerned that that idiot may do the same to someone else. Goodness knows why the woman he was having the altercation with got back in the car with him when they drove off (I didn't actually see that myself as I was unconscious at the time).
Still - not as bad as happened to my brother. Many years ago when he worked at Reading Uni, there was a chap attacking a woman with a knife in the entrance to his building. He tried (unsuccessfully) to save her but ended up stabbed for his trouble - just missing his heart.
