Couple of general points....
Couple of folk have asked me if I/we mind answering questions - NO !
We do not mind at all - we figure that the more we have answered, the more questions are covered - and even if you ask something that has been covered before, you may use a different description that may help other folks in the future
Oh - we do moan about the search function - it's part of our Waldorf and Stutler impression.... We want folk to use it.... So bear with us - we are grumpy old gits!
Yep, there are some in jokes.... Join in with them.... You may never know about the video behind the revelation of badger pubes but..... In all seriousness the piss taking is a part of the site.... We would ask that you stay quiet by the 6 foot wall in the corner though - the company dwarf lives there and Tim thinks he is on his own....
On a serious note - tin rattling - every now and again the management rattle the coffers tin - people can choose to put cash in, or choose not too - it is not required! we like folk to put in as it means we are advert free etc but people can choose....
(also hopefully we may have a software update soon as well.... You would not believe the amount of nasty spamming accounts set up on a daily basis... Spamming bastards)
Anyway, just thought I would share a few thoughts

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
Yes I "moan" that people ask the same questions again and again - but as Pete suggests it's more to get people to realise that there is a lot of info already here and people can get to it more quickly by doing a quick search than asking us, us replying (including our own search to link to the info) and getting back to you.
That said, we honestly don't mind as a forum without questions is a dead forum and the questions and answers inform more than just the person asking.
So don't worry - we're all happy to help (even if we pretend not to be) - and today's question askers are tomorrows question answerers.
If people have been getting a bit concerned, I'll change my approach as I don't want to put people off.

LOL - I've never noticed that but can understand the frustration.Falconihlist wrote:Is there any way of removing peoples signatures from the search function? That's where I pull my hair out looking for something, and someone has that word in their signature and I have to sift through all them too.
Also, who a I sending my beer tokens to for the site?
A while back we didn't allow signatures at all but then relented and introduced them. I think the only solution to this might be to reintroduce the ban.

Never had that happen, and just tried to force it but can't.Falconihlist wrote:Is there any way of removing peoples signatures from the search function? That's where I pull my hair out looking for something, and someone has that word in their signature and I have to sift through all them too.

You are using the site search button at the top of the page below the logo?

..... Given that this has been Pete's sig for some time, I'm even more baffled now:Falconihlist wrote:Yeah, used that one. Can't remember what the last thing I looked for was, but came up with every post Aladinsane had done. Think it was something to do with exhausts.
