I've been asked a question?
about the OZ wheels I have on my bike, they are the genuine OZ rims but the question is are they the aluminium or magnesium version?

iirc if they have aprilia stamps on them, then they are the heavier version - the original, stamped OZ only are the lighter ones
I am certain that once andy has parked his zimmer he will be along shortly to confirm or refute this
(I think he went with Howard to get their pads changed....)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Maybe a daft answer but
Do they have a product code so that oz could confirm for you?
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.

i believe that has been looked into before and was a none starter
the markings were the key iirc - or, obviously to weigh them - i know andy posted the weight differences before....

and after a little search - :
The rear 'cast' OZs are 2 piece, as in the 'rear spring drive holder' is held on to the main wheel with 5 bolts.
The forged OZs are one solid lightweight piece of art..........
that should make it very easy to identify now

OK ..... sorry I couldn't reply earlier - this is the one forum that I can't get on to at work - so only just seen this ........
OZ did make magnesium wheels for a handful of Milles but these are very rare (just the Nera and the racing SP).
It's not impossible, but I think it very unlikely that you've got yourself a set of them - and you probably wouldn't want them anyway as they degrade and are much less robust than the forged aluminium wheels.
If you do want robust ultra-lightweight wheels then BST carbon fibre jobs are the dogs
I posted up a table of the weights of the various OZ and Aprilia heavy-look-a-likes (as well as the standard Brembo wheels) in this thread:

Mags are good for the track, but not so great for the road, less dense molecular structure (why they're lighter) means they don't hold air as well as ally, so your tyre pressure keeps going down.
