Are you a Budget winner or will your wallet soon feel lighter?

Use our Budget calculator, developed by accounting firm KPMG LLP (UK), to find out how the Budget will affect you during the financial year starting in April 2007.

However, the chancellor’s most eye-catching change, cutting income tax by 2p while abolishing the 10% tax band, will not come into effect before 2008, and the Treasury has not provided all necessary details. Therefore our calculator can not yet reflect the proposed changes to the income tax regime.

Im 501 quid better off.. plus any tax I get back for deploying on Ops :smt001

Mind this is only a broad reckoner!

Well i started to fill it in but soon gave up as i didn't know the answers to half the questions.
I could find it all out .... but I can't be a##ed.

I presume there's been a budget announced or something.

I'll be about £2500 better off mostly cos of the end of the 10% tax, 2p's worth a lot more :smt003

Re-chek your sums Gio. Using the same thresholds, the abolition of the 10% and the reduction to 20% of the basic rate means a maximum possible gain at the top of the basic rate band of £397 per person. And thats in 2008/9 anyway. And thats ignoring what the road fund tax and air taxes etc will cost you.

so make that -11.45 then.

With the cost of living in UK rising, you can do one if you think we're gonna lend you the rope, wood and nails!

Dont forget however..

The hire of the hammer is 4 quid,
The cost for the risk assessment is @ 45 quid,
The safety fencing to secure the area so kids dont get hurt will be another 150 quid, but you can have the signs to go with it for free.
You will have to sort out the public liability insurance in advance not to mention getting a licence to hold such an event.
The Ambulance on standby will cost a grand.
The coroner's report will be yet another 500 quid and the burial or cremation will be down to your own arrangement.

But dont worry! If youre an ILLEGAL immigrant (Those who arent illegal get screwed like the rest of us) this will all be provided for free whilst the hardworking rest of us cough up for it.

:smt017 eh? where'd that little rant just come from!!!
