Seems like a cheap option. Sure they fit someone may correct me.

You'll need the Dogbone and Tri angles with that one (although someone is bound to point out that it has been fitted without them :smt014 )

The White one is a straight fit.

Good price ... but, yes, linkages needed.
If I were after one I'd be tempted to grab it and then keep an eye out for the linkages.

It's from a breaker ... he may have them too.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

you arrange to borrow an abba stand and a torque spanner - or pop round some ones and get it sorted

i think I fitted PhilH's new shock and linkages in around 35 minutes....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

and the dogbone and a willing volunteer is obviously next on my list

I am resisting obvious puns about Abba and stands

An Ulti-Pro stand will also be a good choice for this job

As long as you know somebody who has one, because sadly, they do not make them any more.

which brings me to an obvious question

#12 Post by flatlander » Tue Jun 28, 2011 2:02 pm

well maybe not obvious but reading other threads I gather that paddock stands may be an issue with the wheel spacer on the front is this correct or should virtually any set work ? thanks

To change the shock you need a stand that lifts from the swingarm pivot - not the end of the swingarm.

Failing that you will need to improvise to support the bike in a way that leaves the swingarm free

I did mine using a paddock stand and then its a very slight lift to put the pegs on to axel stands then very carefully remove the paddock stand.

But the pegs are spring loaded ..... don't they just fold up ?
