:smt006

Hi there, Carlos here from Birmingham. I've only gone and bought an SL of that dodgy cowboy Nooj fellow.

A great bike - It's pretty much back to OEM for the moment and needs some shinnies! I might as well kick right off with the begging and scrounging- so here's what I'm after, including any advice on going about these things...

My prioritised wish list

2nd hand open exhausts & link pipes
Brake / clutch lines (Goodridge seem to be cheaper than Hell or Cobra atm & I have them on my Fazer thou)
Chip (& open airbox further down the line)
Pegless can hangers
Side stand
Reservoir caps
Coloured lines to run from reservoir to master cylinders.

If anyone's selling or knows the best places, please help.

Cheers!

Hi and welcome

I replaced my brake and clutch lines recently - I went for Hel as they were cheapest for me (with the Forum Discount)

Good to see you've got Nooj summed up already :smt002

With respect - sort the side stand out ASAP

Then spend a couple of weeks riding it and deciding your priority list.... I think you already have a White spring shock in that bike?

Also, look at what others have done - and read about our experiences - that will give you some idea of can and chip combinations etc

You already have a faster colour btw :)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Side stand's been done already ;-)

Reservoir caps I can do (Pro-Bolt dealer/cowboy that I am) Front and rear brake, plus clutch caps in a choice of colours for £54.10 which includes insured postage and 10% discount.

Brake lines definitely HEL with the forum discount (they work out cheaper then the R&G ones I get at trade price, which are also made by HEL!).

If you can, get the 'zorsts, chip and airbox all together, or get a PCIII rather than a chip, you can use that with what ever set-ups you run then.

Pegless can hangers... tricky.

Coloured lines from the reservoirs to the M/C's... you can get silicon hose in various colours, but it sweats and turns your fluids nasty. I'd have a look for coloured heat-shrink tubing on e-bay and put that over your existing rubber lines.

Yamyam... The Brum or the Yammy Fazer thou? Cheeky fecker :smt016

Nooj- as you all know, he is top notch- The bike was a bazillion times better then the pics suggested, and CLEEEEAN.

Anyhoo. Pillion pegs... No one here has access to a water jet? Hmm. A mate has a shop making ali cranes, maybe he can fab a simple hanger for me. Just throwing it out there, anyone else interested?

In the mean time, the lean angle of the stand is very high, but not terrible - I was wondering about taking 4mm or so off it to drop her on her side a little as I worry anout people leaning against it atm.

I tried the forum discount and Hel were very expensive, try it yourself. Goodridge front (race) rear and clutch under £100.

The biggest issue by far is the cans, I realy need to hear that V Twin more for full enjoyment. Those stocks are crap!

:smt104 i think I just came... I want to touch it...

Why the heck don't you fab up some simple hangers out of 4mm ali? You'd make a few beers and then some! By the gods on Olympus, that's a BEAUT!

Our one is now in a 'used' state.. they don't stay that clean for long..lol.. Do me a drawing of what you're after and I'll get something knocked up. Got plenty of 5mm Alu kicking around.. Grade should be ok, but i'd check first.. It's one of the softer grades 5083. :smt001

Coventry is worse.. :smt002

I seem to be able to make these things in reasonable time but takes an age to get them sent out. Collection is much preferred as the post office is usually closed when I need it.

White spring Mille rear shock (or better if you can afford it) will cure that AND improve the ride.

I got x2 front brake lines plus clutch in custom length, the colour sleeving of my choice, with black stainless banjos all for £71. The set up you described above in the same spec. as mine comes out at about £75 with the forum discount.
